Illuminati Roundtable: Where’s The Rest of Bad Boy, Puff?

Bad Boyyyy. Bad Boyyyy. Come out and playyyyyy. Take that. Take that. The B.E.T. Awards have come and gone for another year. There were some highs and lows, but one of my favorite highlights was the Bad Boy 20 year reunion. Complete with a few of my favorite gems, Puff Daddy (or whatever he goes by today) sure knows how to put on a show. Puff, Ma$e, The Lox, Lil Kim, Faith Evans, and 112 gave the award ceremony a Hip-Hop nostalgic feel. Especially with Lil Kim doing her iconic squat pose, which for a minute, made us forget she’s been cut more times than a deck of cards at a casino. The only problem with the set was, where was the rest of the roster? They don’t have weekends off? There were no minutes on their phones? Or is it because Diddy still hasn’t paid them?

Whether you want to admit it or not, Bad Boy had an extensive squad in the 90s. They murdered every R&B chart, Rap chart, remix, collaboration, movie, and Uno game. So why would only a few members of the crew would show up to Bad Boy’s big moment? I mean there was no Total. No Craig Mack. No Loon. No G-Dep. No Black Rob (he incarcerated though). No Shyne via Skype. You mean to tell me that Da Band, Day 26, Danity Kane, and Donnie Klang were all busy? You mean Dream had something better to do? Here’s my reason why they didn’t show up: Nobody wants to honor the Devil. I’m not calling Diddy the Devil but I am calling him the Devil. He will give you the fame while he keeps your fortune. And I don’t know about you but I don’t work for free. His beef with every artist on his roster has to do with unpaid wages. Remember when The Lox threatened to throw a refrigerator at Puff if he didn’t pay up? So why would these artists show up to party with Puff? That’s like going to the Christmas party of a job that fired you when you asked for a raise.

The Bad Boy Reunion at the B.E.T. Awards was dope. However, for it truly to be a reunion everyone had to show up. Not just the popular kids. It was still a good look for Diddy. After all the shady mess he has done and is still doing, folks still showed up to help Diddy celebrate Diddy. I mean they still aren’t going to get paid but cute for them. It’s good to see folks put their differences aside to be on TV. I just hope at the next reunion, the five best rappers on Bad Boy show up: Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan. He spits hot fire. – Pooh Bailey
