Back in May, Milwaukee/New York artist Signif released a single called “The L Word (LikeLustLove).” It was produced by London producer Moteleola and appears on her current offering Friction. A review of the single can be read here. At the end of last month a video for the record surfaced. It is the very first visual to come about from the aforementioned album. Readers can lay their eyes on the flick after the break.

Earlier this month, a handful of select Milwaukee based artists got the chance to participate in one of the biggest Hip-Hop music festivals in the business. They headed down to Atlanta for A3C which ran from the 8th until the 12th this year. The home team took over the Apache Cafe on the 11th and included names such as: Signif, Sean Smart & Moses, Reggie Bonds, and more. Despite our best efforts, The Illixer was unable to attend the festivities to catch the big night in person. However, it seems the spirit of the site traveled with the group. The other day the site was lucky enough to receive video footage of the venture.

Earlier this month rapper Signif dropped the latest addition to her steadily growing catalog, Friction. The concept for the LP centers around the day to day life conflicts that people endure or have endured, including Signif herself. She discloses: “I played off the ‘Friction’ title, because even though I live and practice a peaceful way of living and thinking, I’m still faced with a good amount of opposition, so I wanted to address some of those situations.” Her motivation behind the collective was to: clear up misconceptions, engage listeners in her viewpoints on social issues, and to have fun. The project is backed by Intelligent Dummies and contains 13 tracks total, one of which is a bonus item. Additionally, four of the album’s singles have already been featured on the site and the reviews can be seen above. Venture beyond the break to find out what other records captivated the site.
