Race seems to be a popular dynamic in the world of cinema as of late. The most recent film to tackle the controversial subject matter is Black Or White starring long time actor Kevin Costner. He takes on the role of Elliot Anderson. Anderson is a grandfather who unexpectedly ends up being responsible for the care of his granddaughter. However, her paternal relatives decide that they would prefer to have custody instead and a conflict ensues that brings a lot of underlying issues to the surface. “Cake” (listen/download)

Milwaukee’s own Montrey Slayton (LT Management Group) is amongst the collective of previously mentioned artists who will be supplying the masses with hot new music to go with their nicer weather here within the next few months or so. He has decided to release a new EP called Melody Within (awesome title). It will drop sometime during the Summer. To go along with the big announcement, Montrey decided to share the album’s first single with his supporters. It’s aptly coined “Cake” and happens to be Montrey’s favorite song off of the upcoming project.

Kal’L’s Top 8 Favorite Mainstream Collabs has come down to the final two entries. Seems like time just flew by, huh? And these entries may come as a bit of surprise as they aren’t the crooner’s typical R&B or Pop music flavors. Instead they are both Hip-Hop selections. And timeless selections at that. The number two entry is “Nothin’ But A G Thang” by legendary heavy hitters Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg.
