Kal’L’s Top 8 Favorite Mainstream Collabs has come down to the final two entries. Seems like time just flew by, huh? And these entries may come as a bit of surprise as they aren’t the crooner’s typical R&B or Pop music flavors. Instead they are both Hip-Hop selections. And timeless selections at that. The number two entry is “Nothin’ But A G Thang” by legendary heavy hitters Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg.

It’s time for the next two selections in R&B singer/songwriter Kal’L Gage‘s Top 8 Favorite Mainstream Collabs. Number six on the on the list is “Promise” by crooners Romeo Santos & Usher. For those who may not be familiar with Mr. Santos, he is the former lead singer of the Latin group Aventura.  The group had a solid run from 1994 to 2011. Their signature was taking traditional Bachata music and fusing it with more modern day sounds like R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, etc. Upon the group’s separation in 2011, Santos went solo but was adamant that Aventura would make a return sometime in the future.

After his incredible run in 2012, Milwaukee based singer/songwriter Kal’L Gage decided to go on a small hiatus. However, he is back and ready to take the music world by storm once again. And what better way to do so than to launch the second run of his infamous collaboration movement?  That’s right, at the end of this month he will kick off Collaboration Week 2. He’s bringing back all five champions from last year’s movement, so that means all new hits with the likes of: Kaylee Crossfire, Boys Like Britain, Lady SabO, Rich P, and Mad Static. Talk about a major revival. Collaboration Week 2 will be followed up by Collaboration Month 2 in November. Collaboration Month 2 will feature all new fresh faces, so it should be pretty exciting as well. And of course The Illixer will be on hand to bring you all of the action, just like before. To celebrate the return of the venture, the site will be counting down Kal’L’s Top 8 Favorite Mainstream Collabs.
