As previously mentioned, this past Thursday (6/18) marked the release of #ISupport Volume 4 (R&B Edition) featuring various local artists and put together by music scene favorite Heather Marie. To honor the big day, the queen of support put together an event at The Mason Jar with Inferno on the tables and the one and only S-Class as the host.

On September 28, 2012 The Illixer took over Grainger’s Pub & Grill for the site’s second event of the year. It was titled The Illixer’s Choice and involved 9 previously featured local artists who remain consistent favorites and one guest artist from Chicago. DJ Bangaboy Kritakal operated the one’s and two’s to bring dope music selections during downtime. He also served up a lot of personality. J.D. The Chief and Mista Marcus of Bass Head Music were the hosts and they too helped keep things pretty lively. Of course the Blaqlizt Entertainment team was present and lending their services where they could during the night. They aided in keeping things functional. Couple that with the quality service of the Grainger’s staff and a healthy sized audience buzzing with anticipation. And there was all the makings of a worthwhile night. Check out some of the occurrences that stood out the most after the break.

“Righteous Brotha” (previous review)

Annie Mae and Rockz Solid of Brewed Fresh Records, LLC are two ladies who have made quite the names for themselves individually within the Milwaukee music scene. However, when the duo come together they are a serious force. Known for their strong personalities and  purposeful music with an old school tone, they leave a lasting impression in any situation. Earlier this month, the two teamed up to release their debut album The Naked Truth: Raw And Uncut For The People. They presented the project with an exclusive release party that featured: an upscale ambiance, a live saxophone player, and passionate performances. It was a one of a kind experience for the lucky group that got to attend. The Naked Truth consists of ten brand new original tracks, sole production by the infamous Krazy Beatz, and one lone feature: legendary saxophone player Scott Summers. Ready for a pure authentic blend of R&B and Hip-Hop? Then click the break for the 411 on a few tracks.

This past Saturday (3/17/12) was not just another ordinary St. Patrick’s Day in Milwaukee. It was also the night of Sounds From The Othaground 4 at local underground Hip-Hop venue Tha Spot. In honor of the Irish holiday, this sounds event was labeled the “green edition.” Any guests or artists wearing green were entered into a raffle sponsored by Sinista New Breed, rapper T. Wrexz and World Is Yours Entertainment. The prize was a free bottle of Ciroc. Who doesn’t love free alcohol on one of the biggest drinking days of the year? As per usual, Sinista New Breed was the host for the event. DJ Cell was on the one’s and two’s. He gets mad props for spinning the entire night. That’s about 14 acts, the intermissions, and the beginning/end of the event. Cell was working! And other members of the Young Urban Society were on hand as well, mingling and making sure everyone had a good time. Shout out to Mike Hernandez. Performances kicked off with rapper Big $tacks opening up with a party number to get everybody in the right mood. Big Six Street Team took the stage next and brought a gangsta style of Hip-Hop to the table. But it was a dope performance. Everybody worked well together as a unit and there was some ill rhymes being spit. A few more acts took the stage and then there was a brief intermission. Following the break, Brewed Fresh Records femcee/songstress Annie Mae hopped on the mic and switched up the vibe.
