#ISupport Volume 2 (listen/download)

Cavi Barksdale is a Milwaukee based artist with a strong go-getting spirit. He has a couple of full length projects under his belt along with one on the way entitled Sight Seeing. The LP is scheduled for release on the 23rd of this month. Additionally, he has some fashion and film aspirations in mind for his brand. And he has some collaborations on the horizon with other local artists such as Rich P as well. So he’s definitely one to keep an eye or ear on.

Cavi’s contribution to the #ISupport Volume 3 series is coined “Black Excellence.” It was produced by none other than the infamous 40Mil. When asked about the record Cavi kept it straight to the point. He replied that he wanted those who listen to take away a message with the premise of: “Live your dream … Grind for excellence.”

Cavi Barksdale Defines Support As: “When I am creating my music I am inspired by Milwaukee’s entrepreneurial spirit. To me support is showing love and respect to all fellow artists. Whether their music is the main hustle or if it’s they are 9-5ers who have a passion for their artistry. It takes a lot of bravery, heart and courage to showcase one’s work; this is an experience that is a common ground that all artists share and it is something that we all share no matter if it’s art or any genre or style of music. The definition of support is; to bear all or part of the weight of; hold up. Support to me in this local music scene is to attempt to uplift one another at all times because we are all equal when we hit the mic and share our most intimate thoughts.”
