The Illixer is teaming up with local talent company Blaqlizt Entertainment for it’s first ever event.  The event is taking place on the 27th of this month, which is a Wednesday. It will be held at local venue Timbuktu. The motivation for the event was to bring together all of the site’s supporters and favorite artists for a night of fun and music. Additionally, it’s good promotion for all involved parties. And it’s something new to try. The doors will open at 9pm. The event is a 21 and older affair and there is a $5 cover charge for all non-performers. The gala will be hosted by the legendary King Kamonzi of the Zulu Nation, with tunes being provided by the one and only DJ Ty. Performances kick off at 10pm. There are nine unique and talented acts on the bill. They range from the poetically gifted Mz. Nova, to the conscious yet street savvy Gat Turner, to the eccentric and energetic fellas of Bass Head Music. Not only will there be music but Timbuktu has a kitchen that’s open late and after Mz. Nova blows a few minds with her spoken word, she has something sweet for those in attendance. If food isn’t enough, there will also be a merchandise table set up. Performers will be allowed to distribute their goodies which entails everything from music to t-shirts. And to top it all off there will be some art work in the mix too. Sounds like a cool and diverse night, right? For more details check out the official event page on Facebook. And be sure to peep the promo video below done by the infamous DJ Breeze and Kia Rap Princess.

**My Two Cents: I am very excited for this event and hope to see all of my Milwaukee readers there. Please spread the word, it is going to be a great night. The talent is on point and to have everyone networking and hanging out under one roof is going to be a beautiful thing. And if this one goes well there definitely will be others. See you next Wednesday! -MinM
