Every great song deserves an equally great visual to take it to the next level. So when local emcee Toine’ Hicks shared the video for his most recent hit “Am I Trippin,” had to share it with readers. See how he brought the single that calls for a change in this crazy world to the small screen below.
The video opens with a couple of close up shots of Toine’ as he administers the warning that is given before the start of the track. The shots discreetly tie into the theme of the song as there is a globe sitting on the side of the rapper. From there, Toine’ is shown in a sprinkling of different settings as he breaks down some of the grievances he has with the world today. He hangs out in an outside location with a graffiti covered wall in the background, does some working out via weight lifting, etc. A collection of images that pertain to the lyrics of the song are displayed amongst and in between the performance scenes. They give an added visual emphasis to the points that Toine’ touches on throughout the record. It should be observed that members of the Pullin Up Entertainment crew make cameo appearances in the flick as well. The video ends with some promotional tidbits for Toine’ and his P.U.E. camp. Overall, this was a concise first-string viewing.
**My Two Cents: This video was just as worthwhile as the track. It provided a simple yet quality vision of the things discussed in the song and gave viewers diverse glimpses of Toine’ in varying elements.
