Tiki Da Poet is a creative soul from right here in Milwaukee. She is also a laid back lover of life who likes to live to the fullest which includes learning different things. She can be the fun joking type but also knows when to get serious and take care of business. Her two main passions in life are music and poetry. Her poems are works that come from the heart. She is currently working on releasing several poetry projects/books. Two that are on the horizon for release in the near future are: Tranquility and Love, Passion (Poems of Love & the Loss of Love) – Book 1. Her first submission comes from Tranquility. It can be found after the jump.

“Dedication to Carol Princess Odom”

(Poem By Tiki Da Poet)

It’s hard 2 believe that I can’t talk to you again
That I won’t get a chance to see you again
One of the only people that truly understood me
Knew me; the real me
Who know damn near all my secrets
…who I told everything to

My big sister
Also my BFF
She will alwayz be til the day that I die
I will never forget you
As long as I have air to breathe
No1 can ever replace you
You will be an inspiration in what I do
I love you big sis

TIKI 2012

This poem is a tribute to Tiki’s older sister who sadly passed away Easter of last year in her sleep. This serves as the first poem that Tiki ever wrote for her sister after her passing. She considered her sister her best friend and this is a creative and touching way of preserving her memory. The graphic version of the piece is pictured above. Readers can click to enlarge it. The imagery is really beautiful and captures the essence of the poem nicely.

**My Two Cents: I thought this was a sweet piece. It came from the heart and I think anyone who has lost someone close to them can relate to it. Also, it is very admirable for Tiki to share this particular piece with the world. It’s not easy putting such a personal part of yourself out there for everybody to experience. So kudos to her for that and may her sister rest in paradise. -MinM
