**Note: That’s My DJ is a new segment that will shine some light on the people behind the turntables. DJs are a key part of the Hip-Hop culture and don’t get as much spotlight as they deserve. Whether its a major event or your favorite rapper’s mixtape, the DJ works hard to entertain the masses and provide support to artists. Now it’s time to return the love.

So without further delay, meet  DJ Bangaboy Kritakal. The site first came across Kritakal while searching for a fresh new DJ for an event. He came highly recommended and it was not hard to figure out why. He served up a ton of personality, played dope music, worked well with the artists, and kept the crowd happy. He’s been the site’s go to guy ever since. Find out what he’s all about after the break.

Background Info:  Kritakal represents a camp by the name of Certified Banga Boyz USA. The camp has been around since 2006. The camp consists of five people with multiple talents. They pride themselves on living it up for those who are no longer with us and holding it down for their country.

Other Ventures: Rhyming, Writing, Connecting with other artists, Trying some new things, and Just being himself

Mini Q&A:

The Illixer: Top three favorite deejays of all time?

Kritakal: DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jam Master Jay, Grand Master Flash

TI: Favorite song or type of music to play?

Kritakal: My favorite songs to play are the throw back classics that get the people going.

TI: Favorite place to spin at and why?

Kritakal: I deejay at a lot of places. My favorite would be a place that feels like home, a weekly spot . Libby’s is the place I am at now every Thursday. I love it  because they let me be me and also when I deejay for The Illixer‘s events they show me mad love.

TI: One trait that is a must have for every real DJ?

Kritakal: To be a real DJ one trait you have to have is being able to read the crowd. That is the main thing.

TI: If you could change one thing about the art of deejaying today it would be?

Kritakal: If I could change the art, DJs who are just now starting out would have to be trained the right way. Not just be able to buy a laptop and speakers and start calling themselves a DJ.

**My Two Cents: I love the energy that Kritakal brings when he’s behind the tables. He has a lot of fun with spinning and it definitely transfers over into the event, party, etc. Also, he is great at handling business and being professional. Can’t say that about everybody in Milwaukee. So that’s refreshing as well. Everyone should for sure venture out to Libby’s one Thursday and catch him in action if they have the chance. Salute to Kritakal for rocking with the site and being a part of That’s My DJ, OOOOOOOOOOH BABY! -MinM
