The R&B world hasn’t been shining as bright as it could be lately. So when the site got a submission from long time affiliate Iri$h The Pen ($hamrock) that was centered around an old school R&B challenge, it was a must share. Motown crooner BJ The Chicago Kid teamed up with RCA singer Ro James and the pair crafted a collaboration that pays homage to the timeless hit “Come & Talk To Me” by the legendary group Jodeci. The collab became a major hit with the people and sparked a worldwide #JodeciChallenge via popular social media platform Instagram. Brian Angel (Day26) is one of the artists who decided to take on the challenge. He teamed up with songwriters Iri$h The Pen and Dain Harris and Grammy-award winning producer Luney Tunez (Rihanna, Future) to help his version stand out from the rest. Not only was this a fun exercise for Brian but it holds some personal meaning as well.

Back with a quick melodic offering, Loki Love is currently serving up a nice appetizer. “More” is the new track by Love and it’s very hypnotic. The hook puts you in a trance, while the production soothes you. Love does a great job of riding along with the beat.

The Unveiling

414 super diva Kaylee Crossfire dropped her long awaited mixtape at the end of 2016 and it’s true what they say: good things come to those who wait. The tape is colorfully labeled The Unveiling. The 11 track collective features some notable remixes of a few mainstream hits as well as a few all original numbers. She gives us the best of both worlds by incorporating both her vocal and rhyming skills throughout the project. Readers might already be familiar with previously released tunes: “Female Takeover” and “No Type,” but there are definitely other joints that deserve some recognition too. Keep reading beyond the break to discover what said joints are and more.

Meet Khadijah Monay Miller, better known by the stage name Luxury. She is an independent artist who specializes in the mastery of a Pop, Urban, EDM, and Reggae blended sound. She has worked with an independent label from 2012-2014 and is now ready to take her career to the next level. Raised in Newark, NJ her love for music and the arts came about almost instinctively. Since the beginning of time Luxury has been showcasing her talent and diligently working towards actualizing her dreams of being a world renowned singer and songwriter. She is heavily influenced by Pop Culture and 90’s Hip-Hop and R&B, such as: Aaliyah, Beyoncé, Brandy, Rihanna, Madonna, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, and Chris Brown. Due to Luxury’s eclectic style her songwriting is a little different from most songwriters who started out as poets. Instead of beginning the song by writing she “finds her melodies first and then the words fall into place.” By relying on the melodies to anchor the feelings and emotions of the songs, she is able to reach a broader audience and not be boxed in by one particular sound.

What you want to be when you grow up? A rapper. A stripper. A game-show contestant. A motivational speaker. A gang member. A goon. An underwear model. Well if you are Jayceon Taylor, you can be all seven. Jayceon Taylor also known as The Game, has always had identity issues. This is why I wasn’t surprised by his sudden beef with Meek Mill. Well besides the fact that he has an album coming out. I mean let’s be real, a few weeks prior he was hand in hand with the police. He was trying to save the community. Now he wants to call Meek a rat for snitching, even though facts show otherwise. Oh Jayceon. (Still mad his mama just didn’t name him Jason.)
