M.U.S.I.C

Street Team Hektik is not your typical “local artist” from Milwaukee’s music scene. Hektik is willing to take his music to the streets and is even seeking global notoriety as he has pushed well past the typical YouTube and Sound Cloud presence and branded himself as an independent artist. Effectively, his team has established the recognized record label named Street Team, Inc. If you have been following his career you would know full well that he: releases quality visuals, has dropped two mixtapes (Die Slow and #ThisisStreetTeamHek), and has even done bonus collaborations on other artists’ projects/songs. His live performances are full of energy and passion –it’s known he can rock any crowd, anywhere.  Not to mention, his online presence is all streamlined to his record label site (see above), fan page, & synced social media sites.

Earlier this year, 414 representer $killz (#DoWhatYouDesire) unleashed a single coined #FLEEK to mark the beginning of his journey as a solo artist and to prepare his supporters for his pending project Da Game Needs Me. The track has garnered attention from various media outlets and even more impressively has managed to make the rounds of various radio stations as well. That’s a pretty big deal. To keep the fire from the record going, the Milwaukee bred emcee dropped a video for the song last month.

Site affiliate $killz has initiated a couple of new changes since his last feature. He is now a solo artist and he has officially joined the #DWYD artist crew. Other members of the crew include a talent by the name of K.E. and Amerikas Addiction of course. To commemorate these new ventures, the emcee has decided to release a new EP. It’s labeled Da Game Needs Me. There aren’t too many details available about the upcoming project as of yet but $killz has granted The Illixer the privilege of premiering it’s first leak. The song is a collaboration with Amerikas Addiction and is coined “#FLEEK.”

A well done collaboration is a treat for any music lover. It’s even more of a thrill when the artists of said collaboration bring it to life on the small screen. So it was a pretty big deal when EZ Money (Brewed Fresh Records) dropped his latest visual with everyone’s favorite rapper/producer/host Trunk Bussa. The two did a song called “Unstoppable/My Side” which is featured on EZ Money’s latest mixtape, King Of All Kings. It’s a forceful number set to a commanding bass driven production paired with an indelible hook and immense verses. As a whole, the record definitely is deserving of some individual shine. Take a look at the visuals after the jump.

Nak Musick Presents: Louie – Z (preview)

South-side native Louie Z made a big move when he linked up with the Nak Musick family to officially drop his debut album. He and the crew put in long days and even longer nights over at Alpha Studios to ensure that the project turned out just right. This is reflected in the line up of dope producers (Joey D, Tha Crown, Big Curse, etc) and talented guest artists ($killz, Floozy, Loud, etc) that were tapped to lend their services. And the response to the effort has been pretty significant too. Find out how well The Illixer took to the 17 track collective after the break.
