Atlanta rapper B.o.B has been on a roll lately as the time for the release of his sophomore album Strange Clouds draws closer. Since the release of the upcoming album’s title track, the rapper has been receiving high praise for his new music. His latest offering is no different. Recently, B.o.B dropped the Ryan Tedder produced track “So Good.”  The production is great. It has an uptempo pace and a cheerful vibe. The hook is solid. B.o.B has interesting vocals and enticing lyrics. The verses are on point. B.o.B utilizes his signature flow, witty wordplay, and grade A rhymes. He does a compelling job of selling the perfect get away. Any lady would feel lucky to receive such an offer from the rapper. But this comes as no shocker, as B.o.B proved with his debut that he has no problem charming the opposite sex. Overall, this song is a hit. It’s fun, upbeat, and is just an all around pleasure to listen to. Strange Clouds hits retailers May 1, 2012. So mark that date and be sure to snag a copy. While you wait, check out the countdown going on over at B.o.B’s website.

Diggy Simmons comes from a line of Hip-Hop legends. With Rev. Run as his dad and Russell Simmons as his uncle, it comes as no surprise that he decided to jump into the Hip-Hop game. Since he dropped his first mixtape back in 2009, he has been making noise and quickly stepping out from his family’s shadow. Set to deliver his debut album on Atlantic Records next month, he recently dropped a new single/video featuring veteran rapper Jadakiss. The production for the track is ill. It features a heavy bass line, an array of sound effects, and a few background vocals. The hook is basically repetition of the title. The verses are hot. Diggy and Jadakiss both went hard with smooth street flows and impeccable rhymes. Overall, the single is a definite banger and a smart release before the album. The video was directed by PHIL. It is shot in a few dark settings with the primary scene taking place in a gym/school of sorts. When Jadakiss does his part, it takes place mainly in the school’s stairwell. The way the stairwell scene is displayed with Diggy in the background is slick. It should also be noted that Russell Simmons makes a guest appearance. Readers can watch the video here. Diggy’s debut album Unexpected Arrival hits retailers on March 20, 2012. Make sure you support the young emcee and grab a copy.

**My Two Cents: Of the two tracks, I gotta give it up to Diggy and Jada. The song is fire, hands down. I been a Jadakiss fan for a while now, so that’s nothing new. But I was really impressed with Diggy’s delivery and lyrical ability. He is very nice with it. After watching him on MTV, never in a million years did I think he would be a serious contender in the Hip-Hop game. Guess his album title is pretty fitting. Rev. Run must be bursting with pride. -MinM
