Back in October, there was story on the site about the upcoming class of inductees into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. The late great Tupac Shakur was among 19 possible candidates who could be awarded the prestigious honor. There were five spots available for the 2017 class. Earlier this week the five new inductees were announced and ….

Tupac made it in! He will be joined by the likes of: Pearl Jam, Journey, Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), and Yes. A special exhibit featuring the new class will open March 30, 2017 at The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The official induction ceremony will take place on April 7, 2017 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. There will be a live television broadcast on HBO and a radio broadcast on SiriusXM. Ticket info for the event has yet to be announced. The 2017 group is being both praised and criticized for it’s diverse set of new members. But The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame CEO is standing behind the selections and is encouraging people to look at the Rock genre from a broader perspective. The Illixer agrees and couldn’t be happier to see another significant member of the Hip-Hop community getting their just dues. Congrats Mr. Shakur and may you continue to rest in power. -MinM
