Madison, WI imprint Higher Education Records has been releasing quite a few tracks with Original Vision on the production tip as of late. One of the more recent songs being a single by rapper Jermaine Event called “Inertia.” In the dictionary the term inertia is defined as: inherent property of a body that makes it oppose any force that would cause a change in its motion. The production here is red-hot. It includes: a solid core, a saucy infectious rhythm, and an energetic vibe. The hook is quality. The delivery is unsullied and the lyrics are memorable. The verses are excellent. Jermaine executes a passionate flow, pointed wordplay, and choice rhymes. He speaks with no filter about the vices he struggles with in life. A few lines worth being aware of are: “I tried to learn my limit. Maybe a couple drinks. But in a blink, I’m in a state where I don’t f–king think. Where I ain’t waiting. Tell me what the f–k is patience? (…) answering questions from incoherent conversations. Now I’m agitated.” Colorful way of venting right there. In the end, this was a promising venture.

**My Two Cents: Higher Education Records never disappoints with their music. This was a very well rounded track. And the more I hear of Jermaine Event, the more I like him. He’s really sitting on some talent. Stay tuned to the site for additional releases from the popular music entity. -MinM
