VA artist PHZ-Sicks ended 2013 on a major note by releasing his latest offering The Moment. The project contains previously reviewed single “Coming Down” as well as 14 other brand new tracks. Additionally there are guest appearances from the likes of: Scolla, Alison Carney, Lyriciss, and more. Producers that added their sound to the collective include: Stompboxx Music, Best Kept Secret, Epik The Dawn, and others. The LP took two years to perfect with careful attention paid to everything from the writing process to the beat selection. Here is what else the rapper had to say about the effort: “The album is called The Moment because I feel with everything I put into it, this is the moment where my life changes. Where I get to pursue this passion like there is no tomorrow and finally reaping the rewards of the sacrifices I made to get to this point. The Moment is the embodiment of me and it’s all I can give to the world.” Beautiful way to describe the concept.

Readers can peep the visuals for “Coming Down” at the end of the post. The video was directed by Jay Dexter of Sun Chase Media. It takes place in a rural location and features lots of old photographs which is a great reflection of the theme of the record. A couple of other songs that deserve honorable mention are: “The Love Scene III” as well as “Black Women.” And it should also be noted that those interested can buy a special edition version of the album via Band Camp that comes with an autograph and personal message from PHZ-Sicks himself. That’s pretty neat. The Moment has been receiving some pretty honorable feedback, so readers are strongly encouraged to check it out. -MinM
