“What You Werkin Wit” (listen/download)

Milwaukee emcee Cezar is back in the game with a a few new things going on. He recently came under new management courtesy of the Blaqlizt Entertainment team. He is slated to drop a new mixtape this Summer. And he hit the net with a fresh single yesterday (5/6). It’s labeled “What You Werkin Wit” and  it was produced by Jay Thomas. The song marks a slight change of pace for Cez. The production here is hot. The dark toned rooted core, melodic rhythm, remote clap, and hood club vibe result in a champion mix. The hook is to the point. The delivery is steadfast and the lyrics are entertaining. The verses are of A-list quality. The first verse is strong but the second verse is phenomenal. Cezar brings a multifaceted flow, dexterous wordplay, and unparalleled rhymes. He does a superior job of giving his usually street persona a bit of a more club friendly style makeover. A few lines worth remembering include: “Okay I’m Cezar, I’m heavy. I’m coming straight out the Milly. I got yo b–ch on my celly. She want the d–k in her belly. I’m blowing kush in the Chevy. My n—a I know you can smell me. Man all I be ’bout is fetti. And I be working that jelly.” Deviceful bars being laid down right there. Overall, this is a bang-up effort.

**My Two Cents: Through some one on one talks with Cezar I know he was a little unsure about releasing a club song since that’s not quite in his element. However, I think the record turned out great. He used the beat in a fitting manner, his content was appropriate, and the sound quality as a whole was valid. This definitely is a good way to start preparing his supporters and potential new fans for his upcoming project, Target Practice 2.
