“Hi kids, do you like violence? Wanna see me stick Nine Inch Nails through each one of my eyelids?” Okay sorry, I just always wanted to open a post like that. Welcome all to the 2015 Top 5 New Artists. The main reason why I decided to do this was to give other artists a chance to be heard. Every day on my Twitter and Facebook feed, I see the same artists being promoted. Now don’t get me wrong, that’s a great thing. But like the saying goes, ‘Variety is the spice of life.’ So here I am to spice up your life (word to the Spice Girls). I will be posting about five different and very talented artists that I’m sure you the readers will love.
Now how the artists were chosen was quite simple. I gave you the reader a chance to nominate an artist you feel is worthy of a post. After all of the names were complied, I chose ten names that I have never seen before. From those ten names, I checked out their work. To be placed in the Top 5, the artists had to show: consistency, likeability, activeness, originality, and versatility. Basically is the artist worth our time? Not only that but are they new to the site?
From December 1st through December 5th, I will be posting one new artist a day for five days. I’ll introduce you to the artist and their work. Trust me when I type that you don’t want to miss it.
