Are you missing me
Missing me like the stars miss the night
and every time I close my eyes my thoughts take flight
Reminiscing that slight embrace when
I cradled your face to wipe the waters from a cruel world
forbidding the ground the pleasure to taste …
Your tears …
Even though I knew you had seen me as no better
because it was a man that hurt you.
Lover’s crime to the letter.
I still stand giving my all …
Kissing the ground while breaking your fall,
now I’m bruised licking my wounds
as you remember how to stand tall …
it hurts and I wonder …

As much as I’m missing u …
Missing ur comforting embrace …
Just look me in my face …
U will see how much I’m missing u …
The way u would kiss all my stress away …
The way u would rub all my worries from my aching body …
U would wipe away the tears
letting me know it’s okay
The sweet & tender man u r …
U never let me fall …
were always there to catch me …
The tenderness on ur face …
The love in ur brown eyes …
I could never deny …
But I must admit I took it out on u …
What he did …
Not even realizing the hurt I inflicted

In any moment that passed by

Voice biting at my chest
Killing me from the inside
I remember my cries
Asking my Father why
Does she plague me the wrath of her past
When all I do is miss her all the time
He never responded
He just gave me a sign
While looking in the frame of your picture from long ago
Looking for you and found a reflection of mine
Arguments strengthen relationships
And this my love was achieved
For I could never stand by and just watch you go
I miss you too much to ever let you leave
Time heals all
And I pray I’m not deceived
hoping you realize with your real eyes
that in words there are no real lies

Similar to the previously featured collaboration, this piece is composed of four parts. StarChasr heads up the effort providing an enlightening male perspective on things while taking on the first and third sections. Tiki provides a complimentary female response as she takes care of the second and fourth sections. This poem takes on a distraught emotional tone. It carries the reader through the complete journey of the separation. There is the beginning where the issues of the past first start to form the wedge. The middle where there is remembrance, acknowledgment of the ordeal, and regret. Then finally the ending where the two lovers seemingly come back together to try and work things out. The rich details and ornamented word play really bring something extraordinary to the writing. Especially, all of the sentimental elements that are placed throughout. They truly speak to the reader’s heart and evoke feelings of empathy as almost everyone has dealt with this issue in the course of dealing with romantic matters. The third and fourth stanzas are the highlight of the work. All in all, this was another immaculate collaboration.
**My Two Cents: I think I like this joint offering just as much as the last one. Tiki and StarChasr worked efficiently together as a team. They both came with graceful wording and everything flowed together charmingly. I could easily feel and visualize the heartache within the piece. Both poets really stepped up to the plate. I am very happy that they were willing to share it with the site. Hope readers enjoy it too. -MinM
