Meet New York’s own Deni Rosa. She began her singing career as a child singing in her grandmother’s church and starring in school plays and choral ensembles. Since the tender age of two, she’s had a profound love for music and could be seen watching recorded music videos as well as live performances of greats such as: Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston. With additional influences stemming from other greats acts like: TLC, En Vogue, Usher, Yolanda Adams, Mary J. Blige, and Beyoncé. Deni’s style can be described as a Renaissance R&B with an Urban swag. In 2012, Deni released her first EP unDENIable receiving great reviews. Deni’s sultry smooth sound and creative concepts grab the attention of anyone that she graces with her talents making her without a doubt an electrifying newcomer in the industry.

Legend. What makes a legend? Who is a legend? According to Webster, a legend is an extremely famous or notorious person, especially in a particular field. So why am I’m asking about defines a legend? Simple. The other day, blogger Lowkey, asked on Twitter if Aaliyah was a legend. I thought about it and honestly, no she’s not. I mean she has a few cute songs and her role in Queen of the Damned was … she’s really pretty. No this isn’t to bag on the deceased, but to make a clear definition of a legend when it comes to Hip-Hop.

Celebrity biopics have not been going over too well these past few months. The motion picture from Lifetime for the late Aaliyah was a total disaster. And their effort honoring the late Whitney Houston was only slightly better. So the pending N.W.A biopic that is slated to hit the big screen later this year had fans on the fence a bit. However, an official trailer for the project dropped a few days ago that changed the dynamic completely.

Phoenyxx Flame was born on May 28th, 1993 in Decatur, Ga. At age 4, Phoenyxx began taking ballet and Jazz lessons, and participating in local dance recitals, plays, and musical performances. Born into a music-obsessed family, Phoenyxx was inspired by a variety of genres ranging from Old School R&B to Country and Classic Rock. During her time at Oklahoma State University, Phoenyxx realized that she too was like a Phoenix and it was time to rise from the ashes. She credits Whitney Houston, Aaliyah, and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, as her most major influences as a child.  Phoenyxx has big plans for 2015! Be on the lookout for her debut mixtape Year of The Phoenyxx dropping early next year, and her debut single “Rockin” will be released on Valentine’s Day.
