“Bodies” (Stream Here)
Only right that the site makes it’s return with one of our day ones, the infamous Son Em’ All. Back in his musical bag after life has been lifeing, the 414 OG has a few dope recent releases under his belt. One that caught The Illixer‘s attention is a track called “Bodies.” Continue reading to find out why.
The production here is clutch and was done by B.U. – one of our favorite indie producers. The low foundation, sleek supporting details, casual tempo, and street style vibe make for a top notch combination. The hook is valid. Son Em’ All comes through with a clean-cut flow and precise lyrics. The verses are classic Son Em’ All: the distinctive flow, run it back wordplay, and visual rhymes. He definitely leaves no doubts that he can still murder the mic with the best of them. A couple of the site’s favorite bars include: “I grew to see you for ya energy. Three eyed optics. Grew in spite of being bred where they deny prophets. I represent the unsung with they dues paid. Blowing fish, ripping riffs, sipping Dulce.” Those are some weighty bars lacing the first verse right there. Overall, this song is a banger. Welcome back Son!
**My Two Cents: It’s been a while since we had Son Em’ All featured on the site. So I was excited to reconnect and learn that he has new music out. He also has a project on the way and has been dropping lyrical content videos on his page. Definitely recommend hitting that link at the start of the post and checking those out. “Bodies” just gives me that nostalgic Son Em’ All feel. That gritty energy and the way he still manipulates words after all these years is crazy. Can’t wait for the next drop. Tune In and Always Salute The Real. -MinM
