“Tennis Shoes” (listen/download)

After doing pretty good for himself in 2012, Milwaukee rapper Pizzle is looking to keep up the momentum. So he is prepping a new project labeled, Insomnia 2. To tide fans over until the release, he has shared a new single called “Tennis Shoes.” The song is a stand alone track and will not appear on the upcoming offering. The record was produced by AO Beats. The production here is blazing. It contains a severe bass line, dramatic rhythm, and a harsh vibe. No hook is used on this cut. There is just a witty reference to the track’s title at the beginning of the tune. The extended verse is top-of-the-line. Pizzle provides a magnetic flow, sly wordplay, and choice rhymes. He serves up a brief yet strong example of why his pending project is one of the most anticipated of the new year. Notable lines include: “Young n—as who live reckless. Just put a mill on my checklist. I hit a chick and she call me daddy. Answer, no question. Give her an answer. No questioning me. Hoes running over these n—as. You supposed to run over these hoes like a mannequin. A mannequin is what you supposed to be n—a. N—as talking down and I’m moving up.” Pizzle slays in those bars right there. Overall, this song is a banger and a wonderful appetizer for the masses while they wait for Insomnia 2 to drop.

**My Two Cents: The more I hear from Pizzle, the more I like. This was definitely a winning track. Everything went hard from the production to the content. Looking forward to hearing what else Pizzle has up his sleeve in the future.
