Remember Rice Master Yen? He’s the producer holding things down all the way in Germany.  He sent over a new beat tape a little while ago and thought it would something different to share with the site. The project is colorfully titled Samples ‘N’ Coffee and features six brand new beats. It should be noted that the tape is a collaborative effort between Yen and another producer by the name of Nosferatu.

The tape kicks off on a casual note with a beat dubbed, “Tired Of Dumb Sh!t.” Its got a light foundation, airy musical components, and intriguing vocals dispersed throughout. It is a free spirited number created by Nosferatu. The next two beats fall under the Nosferatu umbrella as well. They are more Hip-Hop laced and even include a nod to rapper Drumma Boy and his track “I’m On Worldstar.” Yen’s beats make up the second half of the tape. He went with a more carefree tone for his production as well. The various eclectic ingredients gves each beat a sound of it’s own and allows them to truly standout. Yen’s best offering would be, “Milli-Sha-Willi.” It is really polished and has a charming groove to it. Overall, this was another applaudable offering.

**My Two Cents: I liked this tape. I love the unconventional flavor that Yen brings to the table. I think readers and artists should give it a listen to truly experience something different. Much props to Yen once again for reaching out to us here in the MId-West. -MinM
