Southern Rap legend Bun B was recently granted a Certificate Of Congressional Recognition by Houston representative Sheila Jackson Lee. He was awarded the privilege due to his work with the University Of Houston-Downtown.
He has been working with the facility to encourage students and residents to vote. This isn’t the Hip-Hop veteran’s first major acknowledgement either. Apparently, August 30th is officially Bun B Day in Houston. Additionally, he has received numerous accolades for his lectures on Religion and Hip-Hop Culture which he gives at the highly regarded Rice University. He has been a special lecturer there since 2011, giving him three years strong in the position. And these are just a few of his community endeavors. It’s good to see a member of the Hip-Hop world using his status for something positive and productive.
