Proud New Yorker and long time rapper Maino has landed himself in a bit of a jam. Yesterday morning (10/23) he turned himself in for allegedly assaulting a porn star. The incident took place in front a nightclub called The Griffin in New York City, specifically the Meatpacking District area.
The story goes that Maino was at the club partying with fellow artists and friends. He and adult film star Mellanie Monroe wound up inside of his truck at around 3am on Tuesday morning (10/21). One thing led to another and they ended up in a disagreement of sorts. Things supposedly turned violent at some point. It is said that Maino punched Monroe in her stomach as well as her ribs and then kicked her in her leg. Police showed up and helped her escape from the vehicle and attack. She and Maino proceeded to separate but headed off in the same direction. Maino stayed in his truck and Monroe continued on via foot. However, when Monroe spotted Maino’s truck on the corner of where she was walking, she ignited the feud back up by throwing a brush at his car. Apparently, he exited his vehicle and their tussle started back up again. Maino’s security guard got involved, one would presume to break things up and supposedly ended up catching some backlash from Monroe himself. It is stated that she also tried to grab a champagne bottle out of his hand. The two eventually fell to the ground and Monroe reportedly hit her head on the concrete. Maino denies having any physical contact with Monroe. But there are allegedly Instagram photos from various people who were in the vicinity that prove differently. The charge that stems from all of this is misdemeanor assault. There has been no word on the specific repercussions that Maino is facing if found guilty. And Monroe had not made any verified statements regarding the ordeal at the time of press. This isn’t Maino’s first run in with the law, so he’ll most likely be able to handle whatever is coming his way.
**My Two Cents: First Drake and the stripper chicks. And now this? I thought rappers liked porn stars and exotic dancers (lol). Nah but on a serious note, this is sad. Whatever Maino and Monroe got into it about was surely not serious enough for them to be putting hands on each other. They are both too old to be carrying themselves in such a manner. I’m sure the alcohol that they consumed during their night of clubbing played a major role in things. Hopefully, they can get this wrapped up asap and move on with their lives. Rappers really have got to start doing better, smh. -MinM
