It’s been a while since readers heard from our friend Monk-bms on the solo tip. However, he is gearing to drop a healthy dose of new content for his adoring public. To get things started he has been circulating a new video for a track titled “Almost Made It.” The track was produced by his buddy Rustik. And the two worked together on the executive end of things. The song is a catchy number with a soulful old school groove to it. The lyrics are fun and entail Monk discussing what he feels are signs that he’s getting closer and closer to achieving his music based dreams. The visuals embrace the light-hearted factor of the track. Watch the merriment below.
This flick was filmed by Rustik and edited by Monk himself. The visuals here probably come as a surprise when one takes into account the lyrics of the song. This due to the fact that there is a bit of a contrast. It’s not a flashy piece like most videos that represent tracks about making it big. Instead it features Monk just having a blast doing ordinary everyday things with a pair of sunglasses and a pair of boxing gloves as ever present accessories. While rocking the interesting combination he: hangs out in the pool, plays around on the golf course, fires up the grill, etc. He stated that his goal for the video was to entertain people. And he accomplishes just that. The visuals end with a quick view of the different scenes from diverse angles. All in all, this was an amusing and pleasing video to watch.
**My Two Cents: I thought this was a good-natured piece. It was something different which is always a plus. Also, the song is pretty neat too. The production was on point and the content was creative. One can not deny the fact that Monk-bms and Rustik make a dope team.
