Michael-Jamal – “#PolyLuv”

Michael-Jamal aka Mr. RealRnB himself is a singer/songwriter who has some ties to the city of Milwaukee though he is currently residing on the West Coast. He prides himself on filling a void that he says the world of R&B is missing …. real vocals and soul. Michael-Jamal delved into the music world at a young age through church and poetry writing. He started recording in his late teens and dropped his first solo mixtape in his mid-twenties. At present day he is pushing a single coined “#PolyLuv.” He is hoping to bring a new endearing light to the lifestyle/culture.

The production here has a strong pull to it. The slight foundation, eccentric musical ingredients, bouncy tempo, and flirty vibe fuse together in a way that will definitely have the listener grooving. The hook is intriguing. The vocals are pleasing to the ear and the lyrics are sure to get the listener’s attention. The verses are noteworthy. Michael-Jamal comes with polished melodies and daring lyrics. He lays it all on the table as he describes what it’s like to venture into the Poly world. The second verse is very much so giving mature audiences only (lol). As a whole, this is a very grown and creative number.

**My Two Cents: Michael-Jamal is built different and I am here for it. He gives the traditional R&B elements with the vocal abilities and such. But it’s the way he packages everything that stands out. Very confident and willing to venture outside of the box. Can’t say I’ve heard too many joints that tackle the Poly lifestyle. And the instrumental selection on this is great. It’s kinda quirky but he brings a finesse to it. He teases that “#PolyLuv” is the start of the new wave of “#BaeBeeMakinMuzik” and he just might be right (lol). -MinM
