One of our favorite California talents Maryann is joining the ever growing list of artists who are planning to hit their supporters with a project in the final quarter of this year. She is in motion to drop a brand new EP on the 30th of this month. That’s not too far away at all. The upcoming album is colorfully titled, This Is What The Moon Sounds Like. She has recently leaked two singles from the effort. The first one is called “Landing.”

“Landing” was produced by SBΛCΞ. The production turned out exceptionally. The cushioned base, whimsical supporting details, gradual pace, and soothing vibe make for a brilliant pairing. The hook is a hit too. The vocals are charming and the lyrics are intriguing. The verses are finely developed. Maryann rolls out pacifying harmonies and vulnerable lyrics that are full of emotion. She imparts sentiments on having the courage to change and push ahead even under the most unsettling of circumstances. A couple of standout lines from her disposition are: “Floating so far above. It get’s lonely avoiding love. But I can’t go on forever like this. Tied to your atmosphere. Watching you turn to me then turn away. We used to be so close and on the same page. As the clock ticks you’re slipping away. Somehow we’re separating. It’s time to be on my own. Give it a try no coming back home. Strings untied, see if I float. Goodbye, now I must go.” Those words right there create an enchanting beginning. As a whole, this is a sparkling record.

**My Two Cents: This is a radiant selection. The production is luring and the content is such that listeners will be able to easily identify with it. Maryann did a great job of opening up and putting herself out there on this one. I think readers will dig this for sure. And if they do, they are in luck. The second leak off of This Is What The Moon Sounds Like will be coming to the site in the very near future. So be sure to check back. And don’t forget to follow the songstress on Twitter (see above) to catch the EP when it drops. -MinM
