Let us take a slight detour from the world of Hip-Hop and traditional style R&B. Readers meet Lizzy Ashliegh. She is a singer, actress, and model from Brooklyn, NY. She plans to take the world by storm one single at a time and will be releasing her debut project later this year. In the offering that made it onto the site, Lizzy Ashleigh blessed us with her motivational video for her first single “Rose Colored Glasses.”
Lizzy sings about keeping your head up and loving life while living the best way that you can and she does it all with an acoustic guitar and killer style. After the first listen, Lizzy has become one of my new favorite artists. Lizzy Ashliegh (or L.A. as she likes to be called) is the perfect mixture of Corinne Bailey Rae and FKA Twigs. L.A. is truly a star on the rise and I love that I’m witnessing it. The video for “Rose Colored Glasses” is simple and soothing. It actually reminds me of a video that would star Amy Winehouse (may she rest in peace). This video also proves that the most talented artists can put out their best work with merely an acoustic guitar.
