It’s time for episode 8 of Making The Mixtape: My Level Is Next Volume 2. The latest episode is titled “The Girls.” It revolves around the newest ladies of the Level Next Music family, Olivia Reyes and Erica Franklin. The two provide some pretty good insight into who they are while enjoying their new found friendship and matching color attire. Take a peek below.

This episode kicks off on a bittersweet note. Ajonra (Level Next Music VP) breaks the news to fans that songbird Jami Singer has decided she no longer wants to be an artist and that she left to go to college. This is sad for a few reasons. One, Jami is really talented. Another reason is, the Level Next Music crew now has to decide what to do with her music as far as the mixtape goes. And finally, they have to accept a loss in time, money, etc. But Ajonra had a very positive and professional attitude about things. That was nice to see. The remainder of the episode focuses on new divas Olivia and Erica. They came together to dish about the start of their journeys on Level Next Music, working in the studio, some of their songs on the upcoming tape, and more. It was pleasing to see the ladies vibe so well together. They seemed to genuinely get along. The song snippets sounded great too. Wonder if they will ever do a collaboration? That would be dope. The episode closes out with the girls goofing off for a bit. Overall, this was an inviting and free spirited watch.

**My Two Cents: Mark this in the books as my second favorite episode. I loved the positive female images shown here. With the way industry ladies are depicted in the media today, it was a breathe of fresh air. It’s beautiful to see that females can be civil, supportive, and focused on something productive. So props to Olivia and Erica for being such respectable women. And I am going to miss Jami. Her “All Of The Lights” remake was one of my jams off of the first tape. Oh well, things happen. Hope things end up working out pleasantly for her. Episode nine drops this Thursday. The Level Next Music website is always a choice place to view it. Or readers can check back here too. -MinM
