“That Pole” F/ Chris Brown (via Ivy Awino)
Houston’s latest rising star Kirko Bangz has teamed up with infamous R&B singer Chris Brown to drop a new gem for the people. The production here is dope. It features a slower tempo, a collection of light musical elements, and a very relaxed vibe. The hook is solid. The delivery could have been a little better executed. The vocals from Kirko or Chris don’t really bring much to the song. And everyone knows that Chris can murder some notes. The lyrics are descriptive and quality. The verses are satisfying. Kirko gets things going and Chris finishes things off. Kirko came with an easy going flow and fair rhymes. Chris stepped his vocals up a bit and his lyrics were decent. Both artists could have been a tad more creative and came a little stronger though. They conveyed the theme of the song just fine but didn’t bring anything extra or special to it. Overall, this track is worth a listen or two. It will work well as a club hit, which is probably the intended purpose. However, it probably won’t go down in the history of either artist best work.
**My Two Cents: This track was alright, just not my cup of tea. I did expect more from Chris Brown though. If nothing else, I think fans of Kirko will enjoy this. Feel free to click the link and check it out for yourselves. And keep up with Kirko Bangz here. -MinM
