King Whoady – “T’Challa’s Palace”

by Miracle

So The Illixer recently reconnected with our peeps from Florida imprint Elevated Underground. They put us on to an artist that they are currently working with by the name of King Whoady (The Strangers | | Hoodie Season). He is holding it down for Opelousas, Louisiana. He is known for embracing his Bayou roots and being 420 friendly (which just so happens to also be his birthday – lit). Not too long ago, he released his first solo single under Elevated Underground coined “T’Challa’s Palace.” With the trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hitting the net and causing quite the stir this week, thought this would be a cool song to share with readers.

The production here comes courtesy of Guillermo. It is banging for sure. The healthy bass, eccentric musical components, savvy rhythm, and magnetic vibe are perfectly paired together. The hook is pretty beasty too. The delivery is creative and the lyrics are descriptive. The verses are pleasing. King Whoady serves up an original flow, versatile wordplay, and legitimate rhymes. He gives the listener a wonderful glimpse into his Southern stoner persona. A snippet of said glimpse includes: “Black man with a plan. Trying to chase a check. Step stupid I might tap ya like I’m strapped up with the tech. You sleeping on the bread b–ch. Money I never neglect.” Those bars are definitely giving a strong no nonsense energy. As a whole, this is a dope and special tune. There is a video for this selection that was done by L·X Media. It’s got an out of this world theme and makes for an interesting watch. Readers can take a peek at the visuals below.

**My Two Cents: Very excited to be back in touch with the Elevated Underground peeps. They have a crazy ear for talent. King Whoady is proof that they haven’t missed a beat. He’s got a very likeable style. And his pen game is different. Y’all know I love an artist who operates outside of the box. “T’Challa’s Palace” is slick and I think the people of Wakanda could appreciate it (lol). The productions hits and King Whoady just glides right along with it. The video is cool too. I like the fact that he plays around with a bit of a concept instead of just doing something basic. Readers will be seeing more of King Whoady on the site in the future for sure. So go ahead and get familiar. RIP to Chadwick Boseman (Wakanda Forever). -MinM
