Joey D & J.O. Ryda – “Brew City Swagg” (Video)

by Miracle

Joey D and J.O. Ryda are a duo making quite a bit of noise on the Milwaukee and Chicago Hip-Hop scenes. The Illixer was first put on to the duo at local venue The Spot via Sounds From The Othaground 4. One of the things that is getting them so much buzz is their street savvy Milwaukee anthem, “Brew City Swagg.” Peep the visuals as they hold it down for the 414 below.

This video was directed by O.C.P. It basically just features the fellas hanging out and going in on the track. There is a lot of premium graffiti and art displayed throughout the project as well. Those who are big on the Southside Hip-Hop scene should even recognize a few scenes. There is a little bit of dancing and some cool special effects going on too. All in all, this was a solid piece. It does an excellent job of bringing to life the hard hitting low-key hood theme of the track. It could have represented all the different sides of the city a little better since that is the premise for the hook; but that’s no big deal. It’s still a quality video for a blazing track. **My Two Cents: I love J.O and Joey’s styles. They each have this extra chill but raw demeanor about them. And their rhyming is beyond dope. I think they are definitely top contenders in the Street/Gangsta Hip-Hop division for the Milwaukee/Chicago scenes. Looking forward to keeping up with them and seeing what else they bring to the table as time goes on. -MinM
