Ladies and gents meet R&B singer, Jade Alston. Jade is holding it down for Philadelphia, PA. She’s been in the game since the age of 14. Jade has experienced the music industry from all angles as she has worked as a: singer, songwriter, VJ, guitarist, and hype girl. Additionally she’s rocked stages with Hip-Hop heavy weights like Busta Rhymes, made waves on major media outlets like BET’s 106 and Park, worked behind the scenes with elite producers like Chucky Thompson, and her resume carries on. So Miss Alston has definitely been putting in work. After a long stint of touring and working for others, Jade decided to return to focusing on her own career as a singer and writer. She wanted her brand to reflect her maturity and personal development. Her newly revised style is described as soulful and authentic, featuring versatile concepts that others can empathize with and enjoy.

At the moment, Jade is nurturing the music world with her current EP, Single On A Saturday Night. The project is summarized on her website as, “the story of a single woman on a Saturday night.” The lead track from the album is called “Missing You Lately” and it was co-written by Claude Kelly. Last month, Jade released visuals for the record. The video was directed by Walu. The concept for the video is pretty straightforward. It revolves around Jade and her relationship with a military man. The story is carried out by giving a brief glimpse into their time apart as they prepare to be reunited. The tale is sprinkled with pleasantly inventive visual representations of love throughout the piece. The video ends with a fond message for the troops and a snippet of Jade’s future release. Overall, this was a flawless video and a must watch.

**My Two Cents: This is one of the best songs / videos I have had the pleasure of reviewing in a while. The song is beautifully packaged and the video fits the record perfectly. I love the theme of both and respect the nod to our troops. Jade really came with her A game on this one. For more with the Philly talent, check out her website. -MinM
