One to the two to the three to the four, Snoop Lion doesn’t think gays can flow. Well not really, but really. Snoop Lion (oh girl) said earlier last week that Hip-Hop is too masculine to be gay. He’s okay with gay marriage, just not gay rappers. That basically Frank Ocean‘s coming out party doesn’t count. His direct quote in Daily News says: “Frank Ocean ain’t no rapper. He’s a singer. It’s acceptable in the singing world, but in the Rap world I don’t know if it will ever be acceptable because Rap is so masculine. It’s like a football team. You can’t be in a locker room full of motherf—-g tough-ass dudes, then all of a sudden say, ‘Hey man, I like you.’ You know, that’s going to be tough.”

So when the Daily News got this quote from Snoop, was it before or after he got a touch up on his perm? Or was it after he got his French Manicure? Snoop, sis, Hip-Hop hasn’t been ‘masculine’ since the early 2000’s. Between Yeezy’s skirt, Weezy kissing Baby, and this whole new generation of rappers hanging out at Forever 21, there isn’t nothing ‘masculine’ about it. Hell, did Drake ever stop sobbing long enough to leave “Marvin’s Room”? See my problem is that folks like Snoop, believe that a man who’s gay, is automatically ‘feminine’. Au contraire, Mon frère. I know some manly men that played football and all, and are gay. This sheer ignorance is one of the reasons why Hip-Hop is on the decline (musically not monetary). Once folks like Snoop practice what they pretend to preach, more people will be comfortable in being themselves. -Pooh Bailey
