Two of the site’s favorite Australian crooners Vanessa Elisha and CVIRO have joined forces to bring the world a good old fashioned duet. The single is coined “Latency” and it serves as the first release off of Elisha’s upcoming EP, Good Ones. The record is produced by GXNXVS.

The production here is classic old school R&B. The clean infrastructure, soulful backaground instrumentation, unhurried tempo, and hazy vibe make for a wonderful combination. The hook is refreshing as well. The vocals are on ten and the lyrics are concise. The verses are commendable. Vanessa Elisha leads the way on the first half of the selection and CVIRO slides through on the second half. Both artists utilize rich vocals paired with prevalent lyrics. They transfer the listener to a state of nostalgia as they speak on dealing with various emotional woes. A highlight from Miss Elisha includes: “They got me caught up in the same things. Not supposed to be. Don’t wanna be. Not trying to be. Got me caught up in all of these fake friends. Not supposed to be. Not trying to be. What if my whole life is ran by others? I couldn’t move further.” Those are some very alluring opening lines right there. As a whole, this is a smoking collaboration as well as wise choice for a first leak.

**My Two Cents: I am a big fan of both Vanessa Elisha and CVIRO. So I was super excited to receive this submission. They nailed it. The production is silken and perfect for the singers’ styles. There is an undeniable groove present and the content compliments it quite nicely. The lyrics could stand to be a tad bit stronger but otherwise no complaints. If you’re a fan of REAL genuine R&B, this is a must listen for sure. I can’t wait to hear what else Good Ones has in store. -MinM
