**Note: Southern Hospitality is a new category on the site that will feature unique content from the underground/independent Southern Hip-Hop scene. Love it or hate it, it has been consistently booming over the years and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.
Southern Hospitality is back with a brand new video from rapper VA. The young aspiring artist holds ties to two very prominent states in the South, Virginia and Atlanta. He got involved with music at a very early age. He is currently in the independent market and has worked with an impressive sprinkling of artists, including Thug Therapy of Wyte Music Records. At the moment, VA is grooming his supporters for his upcoming mixtape dubbed Swerve Music. As part of his promotional efforts he just dropped a new visual courtesy of Trevor Post and his Music City Films imprint. The video is for his song “Body Marked Up.” Check it out below.
The single features a sample of “Body Marked Up” by rapper Willy Northpole in the hook. The video takes place in the downtown area of Atlanta, GA. The plot for the piece is pretty straight forward. The camera basically just showcases VA as he does his thing with an extraordinary graffiti painted wall in the background. There are little quirks added in to keep things interesting. For example: VA flaunts his numerous tattoos, switches up his appearance, etc. The flick ends with some advertising for VA’s Twitter and the pending mixtape. All in all, this was a fair viewing.
**My Two Cents: I thought this was a cool video. VA really got a chance to display his personality. Also, I loved the location. The graffiti wall was super dope. Shout out to Trevor Post for the quality camera work and editing. Be sure to visit that link and give his page a like. -MinM
