Sofi Green is an emerging star on the rise from Washington DC, by way of Brooklyn, New York. She dabbles in music, television, and fashion. Sofi originally entered the music world via dance. She eventually discovered a knack for rapping and singing as well. Her talents lead her to be signed to a name that is no stranger to the 414 music scene, Rico Love. Her style is described as Renegade Urban Pop which is a fusion of: Pop, Trap, Hip-Hop, EDM, and R&B. Her singles have been in rotation on well known radio stations like Hot 97 and Power 105.1. And her music opened the doorway for her television career. Through making various connections, she landed a gig as a VJ on MTV 2’s The Week In Jams placing her alongside DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God. Great position for an upcoming artist to be in. If that wasn’t enough, she does her thing with clothing design as well.  Her sense of fashion has garnered her attention & work from major media outlets such as: Global Grind, Glamour, and Vogue just to name a few. So she is definitely making a splash in all of the right ways.

At the moment, she is preparing to drop her next project. It will be an EP titled, Not That Kind Of Girl. The collective is rumored to feature guest appearances from: Trey Songz, A$AP Ferg, and Fabolous. To give the site a glimpse of what she can do, her team sent over a snippet from her upcoming video for her single “Ice Cold.” The record is produced by Pierre “The Maven” Medor and is a collaboration with Ohio rapper Stalley. The tune is a gritty number where Sofi flexes the more tough girl side of her persona. Her smooth flow has a hint of distinction to it and her bars are pretty fresh. Stalley holds his own too. The hook is simple yet catchy. Definitely a slick little number overall. The visual clip depicts Sofi getting her helicopter swag on set to a black & white color scheme. Seems like it has the potential to be a dope flick. So make sure to keep an eye out for the full version of the video. The Illixer will certainly be keeping up with Miss Green to see what else she has in store as well as to catch her EP when it drops. -MinM
