There is nothing more awesome then when two really great artists get together for a hot collaboration. It’s even more entertaining when it involves artists that fans wouldn’t necessarily expect to ever hear on the same song. With that said, it looks like the music world is about to experience some very intriguing partnerships. Bizarre and sometimes controversial Pop diva Lady Gaga is slated to do a song with West Coast rap veteran Too $hort on her upcoming album, Artpop. She shared the peculiar news during her press run at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. This situation came to be when Too $hort overheard a Skype session that Lady Gaga was having with producer DJ White Shadow. $hort was in the studio with Shadow working on a House Music project at the time of the Skype conversation. He expressed some interest and the rest is history. Gaga has decided that she will debut the single with Too $hort via one of her future pending live performances. He has agreed to be in attendance for the big premiere. Artpop is scheduled to hit the masses on November 11th of this year. If that doesn’t raise an eyebrow or two, maybe the combination of Kevin McCall and Marilyn Manson will.

Urban multi-talented artist Kevin McCall (“Deuces” / “Naked”) has decided to introduce a new genre to the music game. He has dubbed it Rock & Soul. To help bring this new venture to life, he has joined forces with veteran shock rocker Marilyn Manson. McCall hopes to be leaking a sample of the duo’s work sometime in the near future. Though he has made a name for himself working with R&B and Hip-Hop artists like Chris Brown, Big Sean, Keri Hilson, etc; McCall does not want to limit himself to one set label or formula. His goal is for his art to reach as many different people as possible. He believes approaching the industry from any other frame of mind is a guaranteed way to not be successful. Manson confirmed the  joint project in a cryptic post on his Facebook Page. No release date for the odd couple’s upcoming offering has been given. However, a video of the two in the studio together can be seen below.

**My Two Cents: These are some seriously trippy pairings (lol). I don’t know which one I’m fascinated by the most but I definitely want to hear the music from each set. I think the songs are going to be something else. Especially the effort from McCall and Manson. That video was everything. I didn’t even know Manson was still alive and kicking. If nothing else, one has to appreciate the diversity that music can bring about. If either team releases anything any time soon, there will be a special update. So be sure to keep an eye on the site. -MinM
