Chicago artist Dave Amazin is back on the site with a fresh new single. It’s labeled “City Of Win” and was produced by Massology. The production here is befitting. The conservative base, meticulous musical components, lingering tempo, and lax vibe work agreeably together. There is no hook found on this track. It’s on the shorter end though, so one isn’t absolutely needed. The uninterrupted verse is valid. Dave Amazin serves up a neutral flow, effectual wordplay, and suggestive rhymes. He takes the listener on a quick personal trip through Chicago, in hopes of displaying the city in a less controversial fashion. He felt this was needed due to the fact that the Chi has been receiving a lot of bad press as of late courtesy of the high violence and murder rates it’s accumulated. Dave calls attention to: well known streets & neighborhoods, popular character types, fashion trends, and more. He does a fine job of giving his hometown a more welcoming feel by painting it in relatable picturesque details. All in all, this song deserves two thumbs up.

**My Two Cents: This was a fair cut. I appreciate the motivation behind it for sure. The production was solid. The rhymes could have been a tad more strapping but were on the up and up for the most part. Not bad at all as a whole. And Chicago could definitely use a little more embracing. I always have a fun safe time when I visit for a concert or event. I also know a lot of great people from that area. So nothing but love from this end. Dave Amazin is dropping his sophomore mixtape in March of 2014 titled, More Superficial S–t. Thus be sure to keep your eyes peeled for future news, leaks, etc. -MinM
