Mechee is an artist on the come up who hails from Detroit, Michigan. He has been through a lot of trials and tribulations in his lifetime and uses his music to express such. Additionally, he intends to serve as a voice for those who don’t have one or who simply may just get overlooked.

Recently, The Illixer was put on to his latest single/video “Forgotten Ones.” The record features Obliq from site favorites Strange Tang and singer R. T. Heights. The tune is set to a slow instrumental with feathery background components and a weighty vibe. The hook is flawlessly delivered with soft pleasing vocals and endearing lyrics. The verses are touching. The fellas come through with mellowed out flows, polished wordplay, and heartfelt rhymes. They do a reputable job of paying homage to the loved ones that they have lost. All in all, this is a rewarding offering.

The video is a product of Optimal Cinema. It is shot in color as well as black & white. The latter being the most dominant of the two mediums. The locales for the vision vary a bit but they all seem to have an air of emptiness and calm about them. These elements make for the perfect atmosphere for just sitting back and reflecting. Which is exactly what the fellas do as they remember those near and dear to them. It should be noted that Price of Strange Tang makes a cameo appearance. The flick concludes with a shot of R. T. Heights pulling up his hood and venturing away from the camera. Overall, this is a stirring watch.

**My Two Cents: This is a fair single. The production is really on point and the content has a nice personal touch to it. Loss is something that everyone has experienced at some point or another, so people will be able to appreciate the theme. The video is clean and simple. I love the use of black & white. And the water scenes are gorgeous. Definitely a choice pairing for the track. Readers should go ahead and give this a view. -MinM
