The production here is of a five star quality. The deep rooted bass, sophisticated musical details, velvety infectious rhythm, and grown & sexy vibe are a force to be reckoned with. The hook is dynamic as well. The vocals are low and sultry. The lyrics are catchy. The verses are great. Yo Gotti kicks things off, Teyana rocks the middle section, and Pusha T holds down the endportion. The fellas contribute their trademarked flows, quality wordplay, and sufficient rhymes. Teyana brings enticing melodies and mature lyrics. The trio do a premium job of creating a hot flirty anthem that’s perfect for the season. A few choice lines from Ms. Taylor include: “Boy you done did it. Love how you kiss it. Oh you can get it. I never felt like that before. Oh you the realist. Yeah I admit it. All in my feelings (Damn). Had to pause, n—a wait a minute. Almost tapped out when you started swimming. A little cocky I can deal with that. Cause you put it down and I need parts of that.” Those words right there paint quite the steamy picture. Overall, this song is a chart topper and a winning way for the Harlem songstress to create buzz for her pending LP.
**My Two Cents: I love Teyana’s voice and I don’t mind her much on collaborations. But I’ve never gotten into her solo work, mixtapes, or anything like that. So I was pleasantly surprised by this single. It’s a jam for sure. The beat was blazing, Yo Gotti & Pusha T represented well, and Teyana Taylor was pretty fierce herself. I’ve heard she has the second single in the works already. If it’s as good as this one, I might just have to check her out when VII drops. Which will be October 21 of this year according to the social media world. So be on the lookout. -MinM
