So youth relate to it.”Viva Fidel (On Hip-Hop Being An Effective Learning Tool) / Viva Fidel is a multi-faceted member of the Hip-Hop community. He is involved in a little bit of everything from rapping to social activism. Using music with a message as his weapon, his goal is to help positively impact the youth and set an example for others by being a leader. Recently, he took time out of his schedule to fill The Illixer in on all of his different ventures from his radio show to his various youth programs. Check it out after the jump.


The Munchies

Bass Head Music is an innovative Hip-Hop group here in Milwaukee, WI. Known for their wild party style performances, the fellas constantly push themselves to take their music and shows to new heights. In keeping with their unique brand, a majority of their songs are original creations done via their production company Deep6ix Productions. When they are not laying down tracks, the guys are all about hitting the stage and having a good time with their fans. They have shared the stage with some pretty impressive names too like: Insane Clown Posse, Tech N9ne, Do Or Die, etc. Bass Head Music makes such an impact with their music and live show, that they made it to the finals of Gorilla Music’s Battle of the Bands. The event takes place in May at local venue, The Miramar Theatre. Bass Head Music’s ultimate goal is to expand their movement as far as possible while having a positive influence on the local underground scene. At the end of last year, the group dropped a mixtape entitled The Munchies. It’s a collaborative effort between members J.D. The Chief and Phresh. The project contains about 21 tracks and features samples as well as original material. Click the jump for more details.

“Let Em Say!”

Milly Esquire is a rising emcee from Baltimore, MD. He studied and began trying his hand with music at a young age. After hitting a few bumps in the road, he decided to really get serious about becoming a rapper. In 2006, he started a business venture called Young Hustlaz Gettin’ Money with friend and fellow artist DJ Rod “Reality the Don” Mclean. Young Hustlaz Gettin’ Money is a company of sorts comprised of rappers, artists, and other creative individuals striving for success. It also serves as a lifestyle brand. Once the brand took off, Milly began receiving a buzz and getting acknowledged as an important player in the Baltimore Hip-Hop scene. In 2009, after releasing a few projects and assisting other artists, Milly decided it was time for a change. He wanted to expand YHGM and focus more on his solo career. So once again, he and DJ Rod joined forces for another venture. This brand was dubbed The Incredible Creation. Under the new brand, Milly hopes to take his strong self confidence and versatile skills and make his mark in music history.
