Floyd Mayweather Jr. was sentenced to 90 days in jail today. The sentence comes from a guilty plea due to a domestic violence situation that the boxer was involved in back in 2010. He is due to turn himself in by January 6, 2012. The incident consisted of Mayweather hitting the mother of his children in front of them. Also, reports say that he then turned around and threatened to beat his children too. When he went to court he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge and no contest to two harassment charges filed against him. He was originally given a six month sentence but three of the months got suspended. Additionally, he was given credit for three days already served. Along with the jail time, Mayweather must: complete 100 hours of community service, pay a $2,500 fine, and attend a year long domestic violence program. Considering the fact that he could have ultimately gotten a few years jail time for the incident, Mayweather is getting off pretty easy.  On a lighter note, Mayweather can been seen on the cover of Hip-Hop magazine XXL for the December/January issue with his good friend rapper 50 Cent.

**My Two Cents: Must be nice to have money and access to good lawyers. Anybody else would be doing a couple of years behind a domestic violence case. And I think Floyd should too since he is a boxer and his hands are supposed to be considered an illegal weapon. Then again, I am shocked that Floyd would actually put his hands on a woman. He seems like a jerk but not that big of a jerk. Guess you really can’t put anything past anybody these days. But oh well it is what it is. -MinM
