Veteran Milwaukee faction Boombox Saintz is gearing up to release a new project this month. The album is entitled Age Of The Microphone. At the moment, they are circulating a tune simply called “Bob.” It features original members Super Ego, Dan Stacks, and Bent Halo. Though new to the masses, the selection was originally put together back when the group first got underway. Venture beyond the break to get an assessment of the older Boombox Saintz’ sound.

The production here is good. It is made up of: a conventional base, assorted background elements, a neutral rhythm, and a down to earth vibe. The hook is relatively solid. The delivery is spirited and the lyrics are easy to remember. The verses are satisfactory. Super Ego takes on the first verse, Dan Stacks comes through on the second, and Bent Halo brings it home on the third. All three artists utilize distinctive flows, quality wordplay, and intriguing rhymes. They convey a solid introduction of themselves to the listener both as separate entities and as a unit. As a whole, this is a worthwhile offering.

**My Two Cents: This is a cool selection. The production is entertaining and the content is something different. The trio feed off of one another really well and I believe that is the selling factor for this single. Readers should go ahead and give it a spin. Age Of The Microphone is due out on the 16th of this month. It will be available via the usual digital retailers like: Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, etc. However, it will also be available in hard copy format via local retailer The Exclusive Company. The store has two establishments here in the 414 but can also be found in: Green Bay, West Bend, Janesville, Appleton, and Oshkosh. So there will be no shortage of ways to cop the LP. Mark that date, save the funds, and be sure to grab that next Tuesday. -MinM
