Introducing to the site, SoBeYond. SoBeYond is an artist originally from Cliffside Park, New Jersey who reps Armenia proudly. He is influenced by the likes of: Tupac, Eminem, J. Cole, and more. In a recent display of his aforementioned pride, he honors the millions of Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians who were exterminated throughout history, with a song/video on how proud he is of his heritage. “We Bounce Back” is the song and video that SoBeYond is using to convey this message.
“Got the red. Got the blue. Got the orange. How we do.” That must be one of the catchiest hooks I’ve heard in a while. With most artists, when it comes to representing their heritage, the songs come off like a PBS infomercial. However, SoBeYond avoids that cliché. His flows are decent, could be better. But with this track it works perfectly. The production is what draws the listener in and manages to keep us there. As for the video, there’s no need to guess what the Armenian flag is. This video is a great representation of an ethnic group proud of who they are and where they’re from. In the future, I can’t wait to see what SoBeYond has up his sleeves. His potential will lead him to greater feats. And this video proves it. -Pooh Bailey
