The Oxygen network is no stranger to the world of reality television. Their most popular show being The Bad Girls Club of course. However, in less than a week they will be broadcasting a new group of ladies into the homes of viewers everywhere. Said ladies happen to be a collective of up-and-coming Hip-Hop artists trying to make their way in the male dominated music industry. Their show has been labeled Sisterhood Of Hip Hop.

The cast includes: Diamond (formerly of Crime Mob), Siya, Brianna Perry, Bia, and Nyemiah Supreme. None other than veteran ATL rapper T.I. serves as executive producer for the series. The program airs on the 12th of this month at 9/8c. Earlier today, a twenty minute preview special for the show hit the web. The flick can be viewed above. It introduces all five women as well as gives a taste of what people can expect from the upcoming first season. Which is a glimpse of the ladies’: personal & romantic struggles, music career hardships, connections with each other, and efforts to juggle it all without succumbing to the pressure. They are not on the journey alone though. There are plenty of big names and vets who step up to support as well as offer guidance. Lil Jon, Timbaland, Tank, and Irv Gotti are just a few of the players in the mix. So far, Siya seems to be garnering the most interest as she has the most unique story. She is the first openly lesbian female rapper to make it to such a high level in the business. The Illixer happens to be fond of Ms. Perry as she and her music are no stranger to our pages. But all of the femcees seem to have a fair amount of talent and certainly have a passion for success. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out. The program’s special is getting mixed feedback from the masses but the site will be tuning in next week for sure. Women in the game don’t get legitimate shine too often or enough. So gotta lend support when they do. What about you? Will you be checking out the ladies on the small screen? Leave your thoughts on the series in the comments section below. -MinM
