Pharrell Williams isn’t letting any amount of drama stop his grind. It hit the net a few days ago that he will be teaming up with controversial singer Rihanna for her new competition reality series, Styled To Rock. The show combines the worlds of fashion and music. It challenges a group of up-and-coming designers to create outfits for a different celebrity every week. They are restricted on time and materials. The celeb picks their favorite design and one contestant gets eliminated. The winner gets the fame and platform to launch their career as a celebrity stylist. RiRi serves as the executive producer of the show. It made it’s first debut in the United Kingdom.

The U.S. version will air on Style Network of course and will have a total of 12 contestants. Style Network ordered 10 episodes for the first run of the program. Williams has been called upon due to his one of a kind look and firm belief in individuality. Plus, Williams has co-brokered a couple of his own clothing lines: Billionaires Boys Club and Ice Cream. Both lines can be viewed here. If that wasn’t enough, he has also done some design work for the infamous Louis Vuitton brand. And the icing on the cake is that he was recently announced as a guest designer for the BAPE brand’s 20 year anniversary limited edition collection. He will take on the role of mentor on Styled To Rock. Representatives from Style Network are excited for the two artists to be working together. They feel it will allow the designers to learn a lot, grow, and get the opportunity to work with two of the biggest trend setters in the industry today. There has been no premiere date given for the series as of yet.

**My Two Cents: This sounds cool but isn’t necessarily my cup of tea. I know a lot of people really get into these design programs though. On another note, I never knew Pharrell was so involved with fashion. I love a talented artist with multiple ventures going for themselves. And I don’t care much for Rihanna these days but she deserves some props too. Not everybody can see success in the television world. Hope the show goes well for both parties. -MinM
