Ever since the Tupac hologram (see below) came to be at last year’s Coachella event there has been non-stop talk about other celebrities being brought back from the dead, so to speak. Well two more are about to be resurrected. Iconic rappers Eazy E and Ol’ Dirty Bastard are set to be holograms for this year’s Rock The Bells. Their holograms will be part of performance sets. Eazy E will appear with Bone Thugs N Harmony and Ol’ Dirty Bastard will appear with the Wu-Tang Clan. This will be the first time Eazy E has ever been a part of Rock The Bells and the second time for ODB. The holograms have been approved by Eazy’s wife and ODB’s mother.

However, ODB’s widow is not 100% on board with things and rumor has it that she has issued a temporary cease & desist order on the creation of the ODB hologram. Her reasoning is said to be because she feels like she is the only one who can green-light something like this and that ODB’s mom should have never been approached over her. She released a statement saying that she will talk the matter over with the members of the Wu-Tang Clan and hopes that they can all come to some sort of positive solution. The Hip-Hop community believes she is just after compensation. On another note, she is just fine with her son Young Dirty Bastard attending the festival and performing as he’s done for a few years now. The virtual reawakening of the emcees is being handled by an individual named Chris “Broadway” Romero. He is excited to have the support of the groups and some of the family members. In response to the situation with ODB’s widow, he’s not taking it to heart. He just feels that with new technological ventures comes some opposition. But he wants everyone to know that the holograms are in very capable hands. Other artists on the bill for this year’s Rock The Bells include: Common, Hopsin, Rakim, Snow Tha Product, and tons more. The tour will hit California, DC, and New Jersey. Should anymore pertinent details develop in regards to the holograms there will be an update. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of the Rock The Bells festival.

**My Two Cents: I love technology and advanced creative ideas. However, I think some things should just be left alone. The Tupac hologram was neat in theory but I wasn’t really impressed with it. Nothing can ever compare to his charisma and passion. And I feel the same will hold true for Eazy E and ODB. I guess we will see what happens. I have no words for ODB’s widow, smh. What do you think? Let’s discuss it in the comments section below. -MinM
