Milwaukee native Eric Lenz decided to share some new music with his supporters. The track he chose to release is called “Broke.” It was produced by Storm Watkins. The production here is engaging. It contains an eccentric rhythm, middling pace, and a casual tone. The hook is entertaining. The delivery is lively and the lyrics are straight to the point. The verses are of premium quality. Eric displays a biting flow, expert wordplay, and stellar rhymes. He completely nails the persona of a struggling individual while incorporating a blunt yet occasionally moral attitude. He unleashes: “I don’t give a f–k a lot. I found my f–king zone. And I don’t wanna say f–k your problems. But I got my f–king own. Save it for someone who cares. Don’t think about my phone. How I inspire these suckas and I ain’t even on? My style is mine f–k boy. Get your f–king own.” Harsh feelings being spit in those lines. As a whole, this song is a smash and a lot of folks will be able to identify with it’s message.

Fans reacted so favorably when this single was released that Eric quickly followed up with a set of visuals. The video was co-directed/edited by Eric himself and BRVE. The video centers on Eric lingering around the city at night. There is some cool experimenting with motion in the piece. Also, towards the end of the video the tint transitions from color to black and white. The visuals end with a slow moving shot of Eric walking away and some brief advertising. Overall, this was a fine number. It was simple but still managed to embody the theme of the track.

**My Two Cents: I really liked both this song and the video. I can relate to the topic and the song was well put together. As far as the video, it was interesting to see Eric and all his mannerisms. It would have been even better to see him put the bat to use. This is probably my favorite work from Mr. Lenz thus far. If readers feel the same, show Eric by liking his page on Facebook. -MinM

Great song, I love the beat to it. it’s very catchy. The song I feel many can relate to as times are hard and don’t seem to be getting better for most. There is always room for growth but I give 4.5 stars out of 5
